SESSION 1
IMPLEMENTING REMOTE BIOFEEDBACK MODALITIES

Presenter: Linda Walker, PhD
Duration: 3:00 hours

The inability to visit a therapy office doesn’t mean your client can’t benefit from biofeedback. On the contrary, remote biofeedback modalities augment therapy and coaching to help trainees accomplish a wide spectrum of goals – from overcoming chronic illness to boosting performance. The availability of wearable devices for biofeedback has skyrocketed in the past decade and opened the door for clinicians to keep their trainee practicing between therapy or coaching sessions. That said, not all devices are created equally and some may be more suited for your biofeedback application than others. This session provides an overview of affordable, portable biofeedback devices, discusses tips to consider when evaluating the suitability of a device, describes training strategies that can be implemented in a home or distance therapy environment, and provides helpful ways to assess and measure progress.

All views expressed in the webinar are solely those of the presenter.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to describe at least two home biofeedback training protocol examples.
  • Participants will be able to describe three means of evaluating progress via remote training.
  • Participants will be able to identify three mobile training devices and discuss their strengths and weaknesses.
