This lesson recording provide 6-hours of instruction from Jon Bale, the BFE's research manager, and Stephanie Nihon, MSc, BCIA, BCN, on psychophysiological assessment and training using the ProGolf Suite. This class is suited for novice or experienced practitioners that wish to use biofeedback and neurofeedback to enhance peak performance with golfers. The measures of focus are heart rate, respiration, muscle tension (EMG), skin conductance, temperature and EEG. The breakdown of the four lessons are:
Lesson 1 with Jon Bale - Introduction to ProGolf Suite, technical application of electrodes and sensors, and review of Psychophysiological Stress Assessment and Upper Trapesius Evaluation.
Lesson 2 with Jon Bale - Continued review of Psychophysiological Stress Assessment and Upper Trapesius Evaluation; data review, artifact rejection, generating assessment excel reports and basic interpretation of data.
Lesson 3 with Stephanie Nihon - Continued interpretation of assessment data; introduction to training a golfer with various biofeedback modalities; mental skills theory and tips from Stephanie's work with golfers.
Lesson 4 with Stephanie Nihon - exploring the use of the ProGolf Suite's training screens; introduction to training a golfer with neurofeedback; continued mental skills theory and tips; further examples of interpreting Psychophysiological Stress Assessment and Upper Trapesius Evaluation results.
All views expressed in the recording are solely those of the presenters and participants.
Stephanie Nihon, MSc, BCIA, BCN, was trained and worked under the Thompsons for several years at their ADD Center in Toronto, Canada. Her clinical experience extends to from basic to advanced biofeedback and neurofeedback training with most pathological conditions, as well as optimal performance training with athletes at the Olympic, NHL, PGA, and National levels.
