Within the last 5-10 years, neurofeedback has taken a new approach, in taking a second look at deep states. Alpha-theta training has been shown to be successful both in treating addictions and in enhancing artistry in music students. The exact mechanism of alpha-theta neurofeedback remains elusive, but there is much speculation and ongoing research. This class provides an overview of a phenomenon known as a crossover (i.e., theta amplitude exceeds alpha amplitude), where participants may experience vivid, healing emotional experiences. Using display screens designed by Dr. Knut Berndorfer, the class reviews the essentials of recording and reviewing an Alpha-Theta session to how Alpha-Theta has been used in applications ranging from Alcohol and Substance Abuse to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
