Recent work has stirred interest in this type of neurofeedback. This suite combines engineering know-how in low frequency signal processing to help test some of the claims being made practicing clinicians regarding this neurofeedback modality. The low-frequency domain of the EEG for neurofeedback applications is an area that requires more research and these screens are a good starting point for practitioners, educators and researchers. A number of issues such as whether the signal is dominated by other physiological variables; the validity of the signal as in typical EEG measurements the very low frequencies are eliminated by filtering, drift in electrode voltages, other extraneous factors; use of other electrodes, such as sintered silver/silver-chloride; effective training with such slow signals.
