Par t I I “HRV: Anatomy and Physiology” describes the relevant anatomy and physiology of respiration and cardiovascular function. Hear rate variability is defined physiologically and the authors review the physiological objectives of training. Part III “ Instrumentation” describes the Thought Technology Ltd. biofeedback hardware and software and reviews the steps necessary to run an HRV assessment or training session. Part IV “HRV Biofeedback Training” introduces the automated assessment script, training screens, and review screens. This section addresses the question: “What are we training in HRV biofeedback?” The authors discuss the phases and strategies of assessment and training, via discussion of the Infiniti software.
