6th Annual Meeting
Over 150 people from over 20 countries attended the 6th Annual Meeting in
Amsterdam from February 26 to March 2, 2002 at the Free University campus near to the Vrije Universiteit Teaching Hospital in the southern part of the capital.
On Friday, March 1st there was a wonderful Dinner Party at the Netherlands Maritime
Museum, housed in a former arsenal of the Dutch Navy that is over 300 years old.
The jetty outside the Museum provides a permanent berth for a replica of the Dutch East Indiaman "Amsterdam". Participants enjoyed a private tour of the unique and superb collection that tells the story of the maritime past of the Netherlands. The "Trompzaal" where the dinner was held is where the ships anchors were made. The hall is decorated in a modern style by the famous stylist Jan des
Bouvries.
